11:47 PM
At 11:47 PM a mother couldn't sleep.
One night in real time. A city of windows going dark, one conversation at midnight, dawn brings the brief.
What this story is about
Coaching institute admissions are decided at midnight.
11:47 PM. A mother can't sleep after her son's board results and messages an institute in Kota. One replied in a minute, with a question. The others sent a PDF at 10 AM.
What I'd run for an institute: every enquiry answered in a minute at any hour, a one page brief for the counsellor, demo classes booked into the calendar, weekly progress to parents, and fee reminders that are specific.
Comment MIDNIGHT for the five questions I'd ask every parent.
The first message we would send
The five questions I'd ask every parent before talking fees: 1. “Congratulations! What did they score in maths and science?” 2. “Which exam and which year are you aiming for?” 3. “Weekday or weekend classes? Online or at the centre?” 4. “Will they need a hostel or PG nearby?” 5. “When is a good time for a counsellor to call you?” Fees come after this, with the batch that actually fits. Your counsellor walks in with a one-page brief instead of a cold lead. Do your enquiries come on WhatsApp, Instagram or your website? I'll tell you how to answer at midnight without anyone staying up.

At eleven forty seven at night, a mother couldn't sleep.
Her son's board results came out that evening. Ninety four in maths.
She messaged a coaching institute in Kota. "Is there a JEE batch starting this month? What are the fees?"
Most institutes reply at ten the next morning. With a PDF.
This one replied at eleven forty eight.
Not with fees. With a question.
She replied. They talked till midnight.
By seven, a counsellor call was booked for nine thirty.
The counsellor walked in to a one page brief. Not a cold lead.
At ten, two other institutes replied. With fees. And a PDF.
She'd already paid the deposit.
Here's what I'd run for an institute like this.
Every enquiry answered in a minute, day or night. With a question first.
Her answers become a one page brief for the counsellor.
Demo classes, booked straight into the calendar.
Weekly progress to parents. Attendance and test scores.
And fee reminders that are polite, specific and on time.
All on WhatsApp, connected to the sheet or software they already use.
Admissions aren't decided in office hours.
They're decided at midnight, by parents who can't sleep.
Run an institute? Comment MIDNIGHT. I'll send you the first five questions I'd ask every parent.
Composite story, names changed. Figures for the gym, clinic and CA cases are illustrative, not client results. vv is coming soon and nothing here promises a result.
