Rewind. A one-star review scrubbed back through the night to the moment it was really written.
What this story is about
Restaurant owners: bad reviews are written in the kitchen, not at 10 PM.
A one-star review at 10:02. Rewind: cold food at 9:31, a rider waiting 14 minutes, 23 orders in 10 minutes after a cricket match. Nobody paused the app. Nobody told anyone.
What I'd run for a restaurant: rush alerts in the first minute, a pause prompt for Zomato and Swiggy, honest delay messages on direct orders, review replies in the owner's voice, and a night report.
Comment RUSH for the rush rules I'd set for your kitchen.
The first message we would send
The rush rules I'd set for a kitchen: 1. Know your real capacity: how many orders your kitchen can finish in 10 minutes without anything going cold. 2. Above that, pause new delivery-app orders for 5 to 8 minutes. 3. Within 2 minutes of the spike, message every open order with an honest ETA. 4. If an order will be 15+ minutes late, add something small on the house, and say so. 5. Keep a spike calendar: match nights, Friday 8 to 10 PM, the first rain. 6. After a late order, a one-line note from the owner before the review. Which apps do you take orders on? I'll tell you which of these can be automatic.

This review was posted at ten oh two.
But it was written at eight fifty two. Let me rewind.
Nine thirty one. The food arrives. Cold.
Nine oh four. The rider waits at the counter. Fourteen minutes.
Eight fifty two. A cricket match ends. Twenty three orders hit the kitchen in ten minutes.
Nobody paused the app. Nobody told anyone the food would be late.
Here's what I'd have done at eight fifty two.
Pause new orders for six minutes.
Then tell those twenty three people the truth, before they ask.
Same kitchen. Same rush. A different review. "They told me before I had to ask."
Here's what I'd run for a kitchen like this.
Rush alerts. When orders spike, the kitchen knows in the first minute.
A pause prompt for Zomato and Swiggy, with the minutes the kitchen needs.
Honest delay messages on direct orders, before anyone asks.
Review replies drafted within the hour, in the owner's voice.
And a night report. Orders, delays, and what ran out.
All connected to the billing system and apps they already use.
Bad reviews aren't written at ten at night.
They're written in the kitchen, an hour earlier.
Run a restaurant? Comment RUSH. I'll send you the rush rules I'd set for your kitchen.
Composite story, names changed. Figures for the gym, clinic and CA cases are illustrative, not client results. vv is coming soon and nothing here promises a result.
